EU, Save the Children Partner to Strengthen Malawi's Parliament

Save the Children's Human Resource, Safeguarding & Administration Director, Andrew Nyirongo, is seen here signing the agreement. Joining him are Habiba Osman, Executive Secretary of the Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC), Ambassador Skinnebach, and Ms. Susie Kiely from Irish Rule of Law International. Today, MHRC and the Irish Rule of Law Internationa also finalized agreements with the EU.

African Children call for more inclusion in development programmes

As the sun peeked over the horizon in Lilongwe, Malawi there was excitement as scores of children were abuzz with activity preparing to take part in a solidarity march to mark the Day of the African Child, June 16, 2018.

Improved Collaboration Yielding Fruits

Mwembedzi is a primary school in Mwanza district that is situated near the boundary with Chikwawa district. The school has four feeder villages namely: Ngadziwe, Mdzinja, Mwalemera and Jeke – characterised by many children who drop out of school due to poverty and lack of parental interest. 

Like many schools in Malawi, the school has governance structures including Mother Groups (MGs), School Management Committees (SMCs) and Parents Teacher Associations (PTAs).
