Save the Children Honors Best Reporters in MNH
Save the Children, during this year’s The National Media Institute of Southern Africa (NAMISA Awards, honored its pledge by awarding two best reporters in Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH). The two awards came under the best MNH reporter for print and electronic. The two awards went to Watipaso Mzungu of Nations Publications and Rachel Mhango of Times TV respectively. Each of the winners was given a state of the art Samsung galaxy tab and a shield curtesy of the Bill and Melinda Gates funded Saving New Born Live project. This year’s event took place at Grand Palace Hotel in Mzuzu under the theme “Let journalism thrive; towards better reporting, gender equality and media safety in the digital age”.
Save the Children has been committing to sponsor the awards since 2014. Apart from giving out the awards, Save the Children has trained a number of journalists on how best to approach MNH reporting for effective coverage.
